Abstract

Latar Belakang;

Background:World Health Organization (WHO) reported in 2015, around 2.3 billion teenagers aged 15 years and over are overweight. The results of Basic Health Research (2013) show teenagers in Indonesia with excess body weight of 7.8% in young men and 15.5% in young women. Central Java Province Health Profile (2015) states that in Central Java province there are 28.07% of adolescents experiencing obesity, prevalence in adolescent girls (39.4%) and males (9.7%). Obesity occurs in adolescents in Grobogan Regency by 25.68% (provincial health profile of Central Java, 2015). Obsity that occurs can have an impact on the health and psychological of adolescents (Purwanti, 2010). Dapak on health is at risk of developing heart disease at a young age, diabetes mellitus and lower respiratory tract infections that affect lung capacity. On the psychological aspect, obesity can have an impact on self-confidence and the occurrence of humility.

Tujuan:

To find out the relationship between self-perception and self-confidence of adolescent girls who were obese in the village of Ketitang, Godong sub-district

Metode:

The research design in the study used an analytical survey with cross sectional design. In the study, researchers used total sampling and followed 30 respondents.

Hasil:

The majority of respondents were in self perception scores 5 and 6 with a frequency of 11 respondents (36.7%) and confidence was at score 5 with 11 respondents (36.7%) .The results of the Pearson correlation test between self-perception and obesity adolescent self-esteem were known p value 0.003 which means less than α 0.05 so that the correlation is meaningful. Pearson correlation value of 0.519 which shows a positive correlation with the strength of moderate correlation.

Kesimpulan:

There is a significant relationship between self-perception and self-confidence in adolescents in Ketitang Godong Village
