HUBUNGAN BODY IMAGE DENGAN KEPERCAYAAN DIRI MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS AN NUUR PURWODADI

Background: Body image is an individual's perception or attitude towards body shape, body appearance, function and size of body potential (Tatangelo et al., 2015. Self-confidence is a belief and belief in one's own abilities and potential, self-confidence will provide opportunities for doing new things, discovering new places, discovering talents, making individuals feel better about themselves and bringing about positive changes to their environment (McGee, 2017).
Objective: To determine the relationship between body image and self-confidence of An Nuur Purwodadi University students.
Methodology: The research was conducted using a quantitative research design, the correlation method with a correlational descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were undergraduate nursing students An Nuur Purwodadi with a research sample of 55 students, and the sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data analysis method is through Pearson Product Moment correlation. This study uses a body image scale and a self-confidence scale. The data collection tool uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale for body image and self-confidence.
Results: Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, through the calculation of the correlation analysis Product Moment, the coefficient value = 0.422 with a significance of 0.017. This shows that body image is strongly related to self-confidence in undergraduate nursing students at An Nuur Purwodadi University. Furthermore, judging from the calculation of the average body image value with a high interpretation of 82.29%, it is known that the student body image is in good condition, as well as the confidence from the calculation of the average self-confidence value with a high interpretation of 82.84%. students' self-confidence is in good condition.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between body image and student self-confidence at An Nuur Purwodadi University.
