Abstract

Background : Health education is a profession that educates the public about health by exposing the information provided along with supporting media for the process of receiving the education that is conveyed First Aid or commonly abbreviated as PP, is the provision of immediate assistance to sick/injured/accident patients who require basic medical treatment. First Aid "PP" is a development of P3K "First Aid in Accidents. Childbirth is a process of expelling the products of conception (fetus and uri) that can live to the outside world from the uterus through the birth canal. Knowledge is the result of human sensing or the result of knowing someone to the object through the senses it has (eyes, nose and so on). According to the results of the 2021 SKRT, the Maternal Mortality Rate was 373 per 100,000 live births, while according to the Indonesian Health Demographic Survey (IDHS) in 2021, it was 334 per 100,000 live births, in 2003 it was 307 per 100,000 live births. Meanwhile, in Temon Village, Brati District, there were 5 cases of death of pregnant women who lacked knowledge about childbirth first aid in the last 1 year. Based on the data above, the authors are interested in conducting research on "The Effect of Health Education on First Aid in Childbirth Against Mother's Knowledge Level in Temon Village, Kec. Brati".

Purpose:

This study aims to determine the effect of health education on childbirth first aid on the level of knowledge of mothers in Temon Village, Brati District

Methods:

This research is a quantitative research with a pre-experimental type using the one group pre-post test design without control method. The research was conducted in Temon Village, Brati District. The population of this study were pregnant women in Temon Village, Brati District. The sampling process used a sampling technique of 40 respondents. The dependent variable is Health Education, while the independent variable is the level of knowledge. The instrument used is a questionnaire.

Results:

The results of the pretest showed knowledge in the category of less than 100%, while the posttest showed knowledge in the category of less than 15.0%, enough 65.0%, and good at 20.0%. Analysis using paired samples t-test obtained p value 0.000 < 0.05

Conclusion:

From the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is an effect of health education on first aid delivery on the level of knowledge of mothers in Temon Village, Brati District.
