Abstract

Backgorund: One of the benchmarks in children's growth and development is the level of nutritional consumption provided by parents. If parents do not provide adequate nutrition, there will be a health problem called malnutrition. Malnutrition is influenced by several factors, namely low nutritional intake for pregnant and lactating mothers, income, education, cultural differences between villages and cities, parenting patterns, and local policies. The selection of the title "The Relationship of Parental Knowledge to Parenting Patterns for Children with Malnutrition in Temon Village, Brati District" was based on a preliminary study conducted by researchers who found a high number of cases of malnutrition in underage children in Temon Village, Brati District based on interviews with the Brati District Health Office.  

Purpose: Analyzing the relationship between Parental Knowledge of Parenting Patterns for Children with Malnutrition in Temon Village, Brati District which includes: parental education, knowledge about nutrition in children.

Methods: Study with quantitaive research design, corelation metode (relation/ association) with Cross Sectional Study, with 35 sample of correspondent, data collection tool use high body measure, filling out the quissionaire and observation page with purpossive sample technic.

Results: From the results of the Chi-Square Test the relationship between parental knowledge on parenting patterns with malnutrition, the p-value is 0.005. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between parental knowledge of parenting and malnutrition in Temon Village, Brati District.

Conclusion: Based on the results of the articles reviewed, it was concluded that there was a relationship between parental knowledge and parenting styles for children with malnutrition in Temon Village, Brati District.
