Abstract

Latar Belakang;
The International of Diabetic Federation (IDF) in 2015 mentions the global prevalence
rate of diabetes mellitus patients is 415 million and is expected to increase in 240 to 642
million cases. According to the 2013 Riskesdas report, there were 6.9% of people with
diabetes mellitus in Indonesia who were diagnosed by a doctor. In the Tawangharjo
Health Center area itself, in 2017 there were 284 people with diabetes mellitus
Tujuan:
To determine the relationship between self-perception of the coping mechanism of DM
sufferers in the work area of ​​the Tawangharjo Health Center
Metode:
The research design in the study will be carried out using a cross sectional design, the
sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample of 42 respondents.
Correlation test is chi square test.
Hasil:
The results of univariate analysis contained 23 respondents (54.8%) who had positive
self-perception and there were 19 respondents (45.2%) who had negative self-
perception. there are 28 respondents (66.7%) have adaptive coping mechanisms and
there are 14 respondents (33.3%) who have mal-adaptive coping mechanisms. Based on
the correlation results obtained p value 0.000, which means there is a significant
relationship between self-perception of coping mechanisms of diabetes mellitus patients
at Tawangharjo Health Center.
Kesimpulan:
Self perception has a significant relationship to the coping mechanism of diabetes
mellitus patients at the Tawangharjo Health Center
